pairing an old trackpad to my new imac

I have disabled my old mac and didn't unpair my trackpad first. I am now trying to pair the trackpad to my new mac and it isn't showing up. What should I do next?

Hi Kimwhite1,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities! I understand you are trying to pair your older trackpad with your new Mac. I am happy to help.

First, review the steps for set up here: Set up your Apple wireless mouse, keyboard, and trackpad - Apple Support. If you still can't get your trackpad connected, try the steps under, 'Your device isn't recognized by your Mac', in this article: If your Apple wireless mouse, keyboard, or trackpad isn't working as expected - Apple Support. I would also recommend restarting your Mac: How to turn your Mac on or off - Apple Support.

If you need continued support, reach back out with an update on your issue.

Regards.
