Not to happy with the PRESS COFFERENCE!

So we are all getting free bumpers. Big deal, those bumper are ugly. One big reason to buy this phone is for the looks. The stainless steel on the side. And now we have to cover it all up with a plastic bumper to have the phone operate. That's like buying a Bently and putting hub caps over the wheels. And maybe even a foam cover over the steering wheel.

They should of had some kind of hardware fix.

Sorry I just had to vent.

I don't really understand any of the issues that people have, especially now... if you are unhappy with the phone you can return it.

I did have the "problem" with my iphone 4 but ran out and bought a crappy case for it at Best Buy (on first day - all they had were crappy cases). However, that case solved all the problems with the phone. I've had every model of iphone and have used a case with each one of them, so for me this is a total non-issue. The iPhone is so much more then a phone... I'd keep it even with dropped calls!

But a few of my friends got the Apple bumper and you can hardly tell there is anything on their phones and the buttons on the bumper are excellent. So now I want an apple bumper and I know they can't make enough... That's my only beef.... how hard will it be to get an Apple bumper? Should I order one now, put it on my credit card and then apply for the refund next week? Comments?

Then return the phone and be done with apple. There are millions of happy customers. Apple can't make everyone happy so they did the best they could do. Would you like them to to a massive recall which would probably bankrupt the company? I think not. With only .5% of users complaining that isn't enough to justify a total recall.

Unfortunately I am stuck in my contract and cannot switch 5 iphone lines over. Apple screwed the world and people want to turn a blind eye. Man how things change when the shoes are on the other foot. If this was another rival company it would be flame broiled and charred. Imagine MS telling you to put a condomon your laptop to keep Windows from dropping your WiFi signal..outrage!

OK Steve, you can add the 2 phones that I bought that I have not complained about because I have been waiting to see what you were going to do. My Samsung dump phones have 5 bars and are shaped and sized similar to IP4. When I hold the IP4 the same way that I hold the dump phone, the IP4 bars drop. Contact Samsung Steve.
Steve ought to go into politics. Comparing IP4 w/ other manufacturers is a copout. Is Steve saying that IP4 is any better than Blackberry or HTC?

I have to say the "bumper" is very nice and fits the phone very well. I did NOT like it and returned it because the holes were precisely cut (that's why it is so expensive i guess) so I cannot use my other charges or earphones. Just 2 days after I returned the bumper while I am waiting for a different one to be shipped, I got a scratch on the glass, as with the bumper, the surfaces of the phone would never touch the table, desk or other flat things might have hard dusts on. The bottom line is, most people would buy a case for the phone anyway, it doesn't matter how good looking the phone is.

The phone looks the way it does and has that nice 'stainless steel' around it because that's the antenna. Now you want your problem solved so you, I suppose, want Apple to put the antenna back inside the case. No, you want the antenna outside because you like the look but want something to fix the problem. But you don't like the fix for the problem because it covers the antenna. You only want it to 'look' like it has the antenna on the outside. Is that it?

This isn't a site for droid x

Oh, gee. . .I'm sorry. I'm constantly typing the wrong URLs in for forum sites. I know it's not a "Droid X" site. What astounds me is how some people here get so worked up when someone who they used to consider "one of them" says, "I had the iPhone 4, but it wasn't doing what I needed it to do so I returned it and got a different phone that I can use." That shouldn't offend anyone. I'm not trying to push an agenda. I trust that most people who read this site will do their own investigative research if they get to the point I did where they can't hold a conversation on the iPhone for more than two minutes without their cheek pushing buttons on the screen.

I love how the mentioning of the proximity sensor was strictly as an aside while Steve focused on telling everyone for 20 minutes that the issues the iPhone 4 has are the same issues every other smartphone has. Steve needs to get back down to Earth, pronto!
