spinning globe progress bar no moving on IMAC

hello!

so i just got this imac last night from a friend, turns out i did command R and got it to internet recovery mode. a spinning globe appeared and a loading bar popped up when i set it on my wifi. but so far i haven’t seen any progress with the bar, it’s been stuck there for a while! what can i do?! 😩
