I cannot import .mov files and the new HEIC files that my iPhone X takes are not compatible

I am running FCP X (10.4) and suddenly I cannot import .mov files ... also, the new HEIC files that my I phone x takes are not compatible. This is stupid

Can someone tell me why Apple does this so often, suddenly things are "not compatible"... so that you end up having to buy more stuff??? My i phone is made by Apple, my i mac is and also my FCP x is !!!

Very frustrated and quite frankly, fed up with being coned

Can someone tell me what I have to do now to get this particular "glitch" working

HEIC requires High Sierra or later.

.mov is QuickTime. It's a framework, not just a player. Are the QuickTime files you're talking about the HEIC files, or something else? Your first message makes it sound like there are two different issues. What's the OS?

It should not matter where actually, but they are coming from my desktop, the phone is a XR that uses the new HEIC format as well as plain .MOV files, however, whereas before my i phone 7's .mov files would import, now they will not from the i phone XR

btw, they are not QT files (thats the app that you can view them on) they are .MOV files

Sorry, I will state again

I have HEIC files that I cannot import (they are still pictures taken from an i phone XR)

I also have .mov files (vids) that have also been taken from same i phone XR

BOTH cannot be imported to FCP X

Im running Senna 10.12.6 on an i mac, it runs FCP X (10.4)

Import QuickTime files from where? What are you doing exactly? What are the complete specs of the QT fires?

What phone is this? What OS are you using?
