what is the blue circle microphone icon on the upper left hand corner?

what does the blue circular microphone icon mean on the new iPhone. Also, when I am sending a text, and the microphone hears background noise, it then types it automatically into my message content. It's pretty embarrassing when my toddler is talking about pooping in the potty in the back ground and it picks up the text!

Mystery blue microphone icon Recently, perhaps after the latest update to 13.2.3, or after linking up bluetooth in our new Honda, my iphone 6plus began typing out any works I speak when the message function is used. It takes dictation but the dictation function is off. We note the presence of a small blue microphone icon in the upper right corner on the home screen and all others. It is immediately adjacent to the location icon. What is this blue icon of a microphone and how do we stop the dictation function on imessage?

Microphone Xed out on talk to text When I am texting or searching the internet and hit the microphone under the keyboard, a icon pops up above the text box that shows a miniature microphone with an X in front of it and my voice is not picked up at all. The microphone works for speaker phone, FaceTime, etc, just not for talk to text.

That appears when you are using the microphone to dictate a message.

That is Voice Control. It can be turned on or off in Settings>Accessibility. It is used to use voice to control your iOS device.

I guess I made a error, I thought the little microphone when you "Enable Dictation" in Keyboards

I guess your talking about Voice Over, I will try it, I ,never used it
