Keep getting this error and a default baseball image keeps showing up (attached.). Any tips on how to fix this please?
On the phone, have you tried signing out of iCloud and back in?
Try a forced restart.
If necessary
Hard reset
Do a backup and try a factory reset. Then restore from your backup.
Backup - Restore your device from an iCloud or iTunes backup

I logged out of iCloud on my iphone, re-logged back in, added the image, and voila, that did the trick!! Thank you for the help.
Have you tried changing the picture in System Preferences/iCloud (Apple ID for Catalina)?
Are you trying to change this on a device or computer? Have you tried a restart?
I'm currently attempting this on my Mac. I went to the settings on icloud.com (the screenshot is from that location). I even attempted reloading the picture. It flashes, and then reverts back to the baseball image. Really weird.
On my Mac's icloud preferences (I'm on Mojave) the picture is correct.
On my iphone, it show the baseball image. When I try to AirDrop to my mac, it shows me as a baseball again (even though I verified that the image is being shown in Preferences)
