iPhone 7 100% cpu use

Anyone know what might cause my iPhone 7 to use up 100% cpu? Been happening a few weeks now. I assumed it was just another bad iOS patch but now I’m not so sure. Battery life sucks, and it gets hot on occasion. I installed Status Lite and it shows the cpu hitting 100% and load over 800...

Hello,

See this:

1) Have you tried a restart?  If not, do it now.

2) See the section "View battery usage information" in the link below to see the apps that are consuming your battery:

Maximizing Battery Life and Lifespan

3) Check “Battery Health” in the link:

iPhone Battery and Performance

4) If all else fails, consider a battery replacement:

Good luck.

Good luck.

Thanks for your reply. I have tried restarting and also a reset with restore from backup. Neither is a lasting fix. Even with all background apps closed its going crazy.

Battery health is at 89% which I think is about normal for a 3-4 year old phone. Battery usage does not list any apps with large hits on the battery, top is Safari with 19%. No apps on the list that shouldn’t be there.

I will have to do a few more tests to convince myself to pay for a new battery. Right now it does not feel like a hardware problem.
