The Apple Music subscription gives you access to the Apple Music Library for streaming or downloading for as long as you pay the subscription.

The iTunes Store Library is separate and you can purchase songs from that to keep as long as you live: this is not covered by the Apple Music subscription. If you don't want to buy songs you need to get your music from within the Apple Music app.
