I downloaded a vpn from the App Store & it completely screwed up my phone

I downloaded a vpn from the App Store & it completely screwed up my phone. I took it to my local store who when I explained what I had done, immediately erased the app and advised that apple products don’t need virus protection. Is this true? I was using iPhone XS at the time.

In a nutshell, jailbreaking procedure is a tampering with the iOS (iPhone operating system), in order to bypass any restrictions (but also security) of the iPhone, imposed by Apple.

If your iPhone only uses official updates from Apple and / or downloads of apps from the AppStore, you don't need to worry.
