16 inch 2019 MacBook Pro running into Broadcom WiFi driver issues on 1909

I was able to get Windows installed successfully on a partition, then went through the process of updating any drivers via Bootcamp Installer.

Now, the only issue I'm encountering is inconsistent WiFi speeds in Windows 10 (MacOS on the same machine doesn't have this issue). My speeds range anywhere from .5Mbps to 180Mbps.

I've tried removing the driver and reinstalling via a WindowsSupport USB Drive, I've also tried deleting the device entirely from Device Manager, and then reinstalling the driver. Still no luck.

I'm not sure what other potential solutions there may be.

Driver version: 101.10.152.3

I also double checked that this was the same driver from the BootCamp.xml file in my WindowsSupport directory.

I should also mention that this is a completely fresh install, so I have no ability to roll back the driver. If anybody knows of there being a previous driver available that would work on the new MacBook Pro's network adapter, that'd be great!

Any help would be great, thanks!

If the routers/APs are not properly working with 802.11ac, this indicates router issues/bugs and bad implementations of 802.11ax/ay. The AP and client should negotiate before Tx/Rx starts.

Nice! Dual 5g antennas, will cause more problems, then they solve. Take a look at wifi-explorer-lite which is a very nice free application for the Mac. It may help you better tune the RF.

I’ll monitor it going forward, but so far it seems better than previously!

What is the brand/model of your WiFi router/gateway?

Based on eddieanthony's post on the first page, on a hunch, I checked the 2018 and 2019 13-in rMBPs I have which have the same PID/VID as the 2019 16-in rMBP. This implies the card has been around since Broadcom unveiled it in 2017 (most likely the MAX series). On 2018/2019 rMBPs with 802.11ac APs (Apple Time Capsules/Extremes), the speed is at line-rate, on both macOS and W10 1903. It makes me suspect that the new AX routers are still in an experimental stage. This is on Verizon FIOS with 100/100Mbps service.

Just split my network, still running into the same issue when connect to the 5Ghz band.

Edit:

I have an ASUS GT-AX11000

It seems to have issues with the 2.4g Radio.

Speedtest tells me that my connection is fairly steady now, but actual downloads are still all over the place. How would I go about tuning the RF?

Pick a specific download server, say Microsoft, and run the same download at different times of day and track throughput and latency. The WiFi Lite explorer will let you look at any congestion or DFS changes.

For the time being, I recommend keeping the two 5G radios on separate SSIDs. Consumer wireless mesh networking is still immature. Even Enterprise-level mesh designs are very messy and nasty.

NETGEAR AX Routers / same issue with ASUS AX Routers. MB Pro 16-2019, Mac Pro 2018 , all worked well on MAC (No Speed Issue). But same hardware fails over BootCamp running Windows 10 Pro.

If the same hardware functions correctly, with the AX routers and the incorrect settings, in macOS, but does not function correctly in W10, the issue is related to the handling of 802.11 frames by the W10 driver and what it is negotiating with the AP/Router.

it is quite frustrating when to work at 28MBps speed from 500MBps. :)

There have been similar issues with the 7.35.x.x drivers in the past, where macOS worked fine, but W10 driver favored either 11n or 11ac, but would not work correctly with dual-band routers.
