iOS 13.2.3 battery drain

Yesterday upgraded iPhone SE to iOS 13.2.3 - today battery is useless. From 90% to 3% in the morning lost in 2 hours while it was not used at all. Later charged it to 77% and lost in 50 minutes 40% of charge. At least it charges back faster than before but it doesn't help. Can't leave home/office without power bank today. Just yesterday I could charge it full in the morning and it was ~15% left when came home 12 hours later.

The battery drain has gone from bad to worse on my iPhone 6S ever since iOS 13.1.2 was introduced. With iOS 13.2.3 the battery has drained from 100% to 1% in 2 hours without the phone being used at all. If I turn off the phone when the battery is at 100% and then turn it back on, the phone will flash the low battery warning and then go dead. Once I plug it into an electrical outlet, the phone will show that it is charged 100%. The same thing happens if I reboot by pressing the home and power buttons simultaneously. These iOS updates are destroying the battery. It was at 96% capacity when the problems started. In one day it dropped to 95% and then a couple hours later to 94%. I have gone to the Apple store and called telephone support. The employees act like I am the only one with battery issues. The employee at the Apple store told me to recalibrate the battery by letting it discharge completely before recharging. If that didn’t work, then restore the phone. If that didn’t work, then buy a new battery. If that didn’t work, then buy a new phone. Seriously? Is this the advice Apple is training its employees to give?

I'm very, very, very frustrated with Apple. If they don't take responsibility for this mess they've made of IOS i'm not spending another single dollar with them. I came so close to going ahead & ordering the 11 pro max, in fact went ahead & bought a case for it from Amazon but, something told me to hold off a bit longer to see what happens with these updates, boy I'm glad I did. From what I can tell this is affecting the new Iphones also. I think they are really on the verge of losing loyal customers, I just might be one of them, so disappointing.

I have iphone 7 plus and as i was using it i watched the battery percentage reduce. I have been through all the settings and reduced any that i believe could drain power. No joy its is still disappearing while i just listen to a saved podcast - Come on Apple ??? i have been extremely happy with my phone and have not ever worried about lack of charge for the day now i am hoping it will last until i get home to charge it

Not that it'll do any good but will add my hat into the ring. iPhone X, happy with battery until 13.2.3. As per other posts Battery Level shows a steady declined even when segements selected show 0mins screen on, 60min screen off, and no battery usage by any app. Yet almost the same decline in battery power for that 1hr segment as segments where screen was on and apps used for the majority of the hour. Battery Health 85% and noted as Peak Performance Capability. Can't be a coincidence that the problems started immediately after the update and is obviously affecting many people.

I had my iPhone wiped and the technician only put back the basics to avoid battery drain. It did not help. Today, I plugged the phone into my car charger and it worked for the first time in days and actually held some of the battery life when unplugged (which is better than going from 100% to less than 10% immediately after unplugging). The last time it backed up to the cloud was at 12:47 this morning. Don't know if this had anything to do with it (alanohashi)

My iPhone XS just started doing this recently. Positive it’s to do with update 13.2.3. My battery health is 94%. It loses 1 percent a minute at least while it’s on not doing anything. Also the top right of the phone immediately gets hot while it’s on even when I force close all apps, turn off internet, wifi, location, background app refresh, syncing, low battery mode... the apps are all crashing, hanging, glitching... *** is it! Why am I wrestling with a broken OS! Why is this so messed up. It’s so bad I’m wondering why I’m spending thousands on Apple products. Why should I even bother with Apple if they fumble this terribly.

Figures this happens just outside the warranty period.

I even tried uninstalling it and completely deactivating background activity for the iPhone. And the battery continue to drain. But now it says “recently uninstalled app”. I’m loosing my mind with this bs. I really hope they put out an iOS update ASAP to fix this. It is not only the battery not lasting even a day, but the battery health. This draining is pretty harmful for the battery. Will Apple give me a battery replacement for free after this?

Same here with iPhone 7, battery health on 88% of max capacity.

Seems to have no (or significantly less of a) problem when it's lying with dark screen on the table, whenever taken up it gets warm quite quickly and battery percentage is going down rapidly.

When looking at the battery usage no app is showing any percentage (- for all listed apps), so it seems the system is eating away at the power.

Powered it up yesterday evening, down to 96% this morning 06:50, down to around 80% at 09:00, 50 % at 10:30 and I can see the percent figure drop when looking at the phone doing nothing...

UPDATE: AppleCare support phoned me on 12/4 (due to my post on this discussion) and I was able to connect with a super-helpful and concerned support agent on 12/5 and discuss the issues. Diagnostics run on my iPhone 6s (13.2.3) and it appeared that the trigger/bug showed up and they are analyzing the data. I'm assuming Apple also has contacted some others with this issue. I will be contacted again on 12/8 with an update. Apple is researching this battery drain issue because of this discussion group.

iPhone6s, 2 years old. All great until 13.2, worst ever at 13.2.3. 100% at 6am, 1% at 8am after no use. I get prompted to use Low Battery Mode and say yes. Heres the thing. The past 2 days consecutively I've said screw it, and left it at 1% rather than applying a charging cable. **** if both days, that phone didn't last all day using for normal and typical use. What it tells me is that 1% doesn't mean 1%. It doesn't mean anything. The bug appears to be in the way it calculates the remaining battery life. Now, I did have days prior where it would shut down due to no power, but not the last 2 days. It just hummed along all day long at 1% and allowed me to do whatever I wanted with it.

sounds to me like 13.2.3 is causing all sorts of problems - this one sounds like it's tied to the user interface since in all cases mentioned, the apple trouble shooters find no battery problems.

then there is guy who figured out the music app was the source of the battery drain after syncing his watch and his battery issue went away.

my battery drain problem went away when i synced and backed up my iphone.
