Software Update for MacBook Air

I apparently cant´t update my Macbook Air, it´s 5 1/2 years old and i want the new update but when i try to update on App store, the app store dosent give me an update to download, is it maybe possible my computer is just to old to be able to have this update? I have the OS X 10.10.5. And i cant get the OS X 10.11 update or later.

Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, and download Catalina. It's a full version upgrade and won't appear in the list of updates.
