Duplicated audio files greyed out when I try to add them to a project
Hello, a few times recently I've needed to create duplicate audio files so that I could keep the original audio file while making destructive edits to the duplicate. To do this, I used the "Backup File(s)" command in the File Browser. The duplicated file is created with the same name plus " dup" added after the file extension (I create/use .wav files at 44.1/24-bit, and sometimes collaborators send me 44.1/24-bit .aif files).
However, when I try to add this file to the project by using the File Browser command "Add Audio File...", the duplicated file is greyed out and thus cannot be added to the project. The same thing happens if use the Project Audio window. I cannot drag and drop the audio file into the project either.
The only workaround I've found is to change the name of the file in the Finder, by eliminating the " dup" after the file extension.
Does anyone know what the problem is?
FYI I'm using Mac OS 10.14.6 and Logic 10.4.7
