Apple Card + Physical Card + Device Card

I can see the full card number for the Apple Card in Wallet. I only see the last 4 digits of the physical card and device card in Wallet. The physical card does not have a printed number. Questions:

Is the full card number for the physical card and device card the first 12 digits of the Apple Card + the 4 digits shown in Wallet?

If I am making a purchase somewhere that has to fill out a charge form and the number is not shown on the physical card do I just read them the number out of the Wallet?

If I make a purchase using the Apple Card on my iPhone with a reader at the store then the number recorded will be be the Device Card, regardless of whether it is Apple Pay or not, correct? The difference will be 2% Apple Pay & 1% not-Apple Pay.

If I make a purchase using the Physical Card then obviously the number will be the Physical Card & 1%, yes?

Here is what is confusing --

I made an online purchase to be picked up at the Apple store and the transaction used my Apple Card.

However, a week earlier I made an online purchase from Apple.com to be shipped to me and the last 4 digits on the order do not match any of my cards. Why a totally different number?

Whew. Thanks.

  1. no. the card number is the 12 digit number only.

I have the 16 digit Apple Card Number.

I have .... 4 digits for the physical card.

I have .... 4 digits for the device card.

Where do I find the full 16 digits numbers for the physical and device card?

If I am making a purchase that has to be entered manually on a charge form, what number do I give them? If it is the physical card number, from where do I get it?

Thank you.

Sorry I wasn't thinking. the number you use is the number that comes up when you g to Wallet>Apple Card>tap three dots in circle>tap Card information. Card number is what you use for online purchases or anywhere Apple Pay is not accepted. Physical Card - use these to identify transactions and for returns. Device account number is the number the phone uses for Apple Pay transactions. All of this information is on the card information page after you tap the three dots.

  2. yes.
  3. If you use Apple Card with Apple Pay, Apple will give you the correct %. If you use the physical card in store it will be 1%.
  4. see above
  5. a random number is generated for security reasons so that your card is not compromised. Stores never actually get your card number just a randomly generated number.
