my wifejust got her iPhone xr and she keeps ending calls with the powerbutton on the right side of the device. I can’t find a way to Turn that of?

That can’t be turned off. That is how it works.

Nonsens, got the same iphone xr and when i hit the powerbutton during call it just makes the screen go black, it does’t end the call. Just can’t find the Setting for it...
It's not nonsense. It's how iPhones have worked for as long as I can remember. If your phone is doing something different, there's something wrong with it.
Powerbutton ends calls.
