External Gpu for my mid 2010 MacBook Pro??

I'm currently trying to find an external gpu case for my Macbook but I don't know which one is compatible with the ports on my Mac. I'm specifically trying to find just an external gpu case since i already have a gpu that I want to put to use for my mac. If anyone knows about this stuff or has done this before please help me out here.

As far as I can tell from Apple support docs, you need Thunderbolt 3 ports to pull this off, something a 201o model does not have.
