Downloading to an older version

Hello. I need an older Mac software to work with one application. At the moment, I am running High Sierra. I need 10.2 version (I guess that's Sierra). Is there a safe place where I can download it? I only found it on Macworld and I am not sure if that is a safe version to install on my computer. Is there a possibility to run two versions (High Sierra and Sierra) on my Macbook Pro? If so, how do I do that?

Thank you in advance for your kind help.

You can try using "virtual" machines but you need a pretty beefy machine (lots of memory, disk and CPU horsepower) to make that very effective. You can go back, by installing the older os onto another drive and then boot from that (overwriting the existing volume can be a little tricky and you need full backups that you've verified are good before starting). There are plenty of discussions in these forums with all the detail you want -- just do a little searching...

Good luck...
