Safari opens to Search Pulse now

Last night, Safari started opening to a Search Pulse default page rather than the usual apple thing with all my bookmarked websites to choose from. I am running Mojave. I tried these fixes listed under the same problem for High Sierra:

With Safari open, click on Safari > Preferences > Search. Under the Search engine drop down, choose the search engine you would like to use instead. The following resource provides some additional tips to help customize your search: Customize searching in Safari on Mac - Apple Support

You may also want to confirm that there are no Safari extensions installed for searchpulse: Get extensions to customize Safari on Mac - Apple Support

If the issue still occurs after trying those steps, consider trying a third-party tool such as Malwarebytes for Mac — Mac Antivirus Replacement | Malwarebytes

Malwarebytes found and quarantined 5 things. I removed those. I have not downloaded or installed any new software in the past week. But, I went back to software installed at the beginning of October (Adobe and a Cisco WebEx online course thing) and deleted them both. Malware now doesn't find anything. My Home Page is set to the apple.com/startpage. My search engine is set for Google. I can't find this http://search.searchpulse.net/?_pg=7E6CACC0-3088-5BA2-B9FC-F3E8D30C7DF5&affid=dhm_A17SR_set_bsf_T&type=t&pid=dhm thing anywhere. How do I fix this?
