How do you change
phone number for verification purposes. Phone number on record is a home phone that doesn’t receive text messages

Go to settings>Apple ID (your name at the top)>Name, Phone numbers, Email>make sure the reachable at number is your new number. then go back a screen to password and security and make sure the number there is correct too.
