continuous random restarting ~ 2017 iMac

Hi all,

I've asked this question before and got some very helpful answers. However, I am still having my 2017 iMac, running mac OS 10.15.1 Catalina having kernel panics which gives me the message 'your computer restarted because of a problem'.

I continue to have this issue. Rarely when I'm actually working on the iMac. Mostly when the iMac has

been inactive for awhile. Especially overnight. I normally leave the iMac on overnight. I've included an

image of my 'energy saver' settings as well as a visual of my hardware workflow. Also, an etrecheck report.

If anyone can offer some suggestions on what might be causing these kernel panics that would be great.

Thanks.

Dennis

I guess I should have added that I only use the external OS Sierra startup disk when I want to run my older Adobe CS4 Creative Suite software, or Final Cut Pro on the iMac. These, I believe are 32 bit applications which is why so many 32 bit apps show up in the etrecheck report. I normally run these apps, including Final Cut Pro, on the 2008 Mac Pro running 10.6.8 but wanted to

have the option of running them on the iMac as well.

Hi @cecemf

Thanks for the input. A sleep bug makes sense in my situation, since the error has only happened either overnight ( as you see I have my energy saver preferences set to "put hard disks to sleep when possible" ) or when the computer has been inactive for a long period of time.

I'll have to look into this more. Perhaps this is an issue that Apple is working on?

Regards,

Dennis
