Duplicate Catalina "Macintosh - Data" volume after reinstall

Decided to do a clean install of Catalina yesterday after constant system panics etc. Booted in to recovery mode, erased the disk and reinstalled Catalina. I now have a duplicate "Data" volume (from previous installation). I don't need the data on it, I just want it merged with the new "Data" partition.

How would this be done?

Thanks for the response. It wasn't a partition, but a separate volume.

In the end I booted in to recovery mode, erased the volume which automatically added the free space to the correct Catalina Data volume.

Hey smmckenzie,

If I understand correctly, there is another partition in the drive. You can remove it using the steps in this article.
