Hi, everyone.
I have two iPad airs (2nd gen) that for some time now has had an habit of suddenly going black with the “click” sound that signals locking. It can happen anywhere from a few seconds after use to a few minutes, but it just suddenly happens. Quite annoying. The devices are updated to latest os.
For one of the devices it started happening after a factory reset. Anyone got a clue on how to stop this behavior?

Are the iPads in cases? If so, and you remove them, do you see a change in behavior?
In Settings>General>Display & Brightness, what is the Auto-lock setting on each?

Hello,
Do you have any gunk built up around iPad's Sleep/Wake Button that could be causing it to depress?
Sounds like investing in a different case may be worthwhile - it sounds like your existing cases are pressing the power/lock button.

No, you cannot pry off iPad's buttons.
I suggest that you reach out to Apple for assistance.
Good suggestion, but I cannot find anything particular. Is it safe to pry the button off and clean underneath?
After removing them from their cases, it might actually appear as if the problem disappeared! No sudden locks for two days, now :) Hopefully this will last!
