MacBook Pro and the MacBook Air difference

Please can someone tell me the difference between the MacBook Pro and the MacBook Air? I tried to compare them online but I still felt very confused.

It is for every day use for online shopping, storing photographs, watching some movies etc.....nothing too intense really.

I have the MacBook Pro 2016 but I feel it may be too advanced for my needs. I am contemplating downgrading to the MacBook Air but would like an opinion please.

Also, if you feel a MacBook Air would be better, please could you tell me which model you recommend?

Originally the difference was a much lighter and slimmer computer with much better battery life than the MBP. The major trade-offs were a slower CPU and no possibility of a discrete video processor. Today the differences are harder to discern. The MBA is still lighter - but not by much. Still slimmer - but not by much. Gets better battery life - but not by much. It still has a slower CPU and no discrete video processor.

There's nothing advanced about a MBP compared to a MBA - it is just faster and possibly bigger (if you have the 15" model). One thing to consider is that today's MBA still has the scissor keyboard. I strongly recommend that you sit down with one and compare it to your current notebook's keyboard. I hate the scissor keyboard.
