my phone keeps asking me to install update whereas i ve been to general/software update/ and selected cancel auto instal... so what im supposed to do now to stop this harrasment except throwing it int the trash please ?

No, update is not a joke. It needs to be done on the device for critical functions. If you do not update, you will be back here in a couple of days complaining that something doesn't work. If you refuse to update it, then you are going to have to put up with the notices. You could always just power it off and put it in a drawer. You are dealing with a 6-year old phone, it is going to seem slow compared to new devices because of the hardware.
You may get better and prompt responses if you may kindly provide the iPhone Model that you have and the iOS version if it is known to you.
I already write the iOs version isn'it ? now you tell me how to know what kind of iphone model i have because i dont even know how to do it...

update is such a trap !! you do it on iphone macs ipads then you realize your devices is slow.... no ??? update is not a joke lately on apple ?
ok guys so i update it AND NOW MY PHONE DOES NOT WORK ANYMORE AND FREEZE TWICE EVERYDAY BECAUSE OF THIS STUPID UPDATE.

yes... if itunes allow me to back up with this new update which is not even sure....
how come everybody know updates on iphone and macs are more or less a scam and you dont know ?
If you haven't already updated it to 10.3.4, you will have to plug it into your computer and update it using iTunes.
10.3.4 is a critical update for the iPhone 5. If you don't install it, there are quite a few things that will not work at all any more.
Then you obviously have something more going on with your iPhone that is causing you issues. Take the time to create a backup. Then restore the iPhone to factory and set it up as new, not from a backup and test it. If it works fine, then restore your backup and compare. If it has problems, then there is a problem with your backup data, not with the iPhone.
Because the assertion you make that updates are a scam is patently false. Updates, such as the one you didn't want to download, contain security and patches intended to keep your phone running. You are misinformed that updates are a scam. For example, did you know that if you did not update to 10.3.4, GPS would ultimately not work anymore on your iPhone 5? That means location services and maps would stop running. That's not a scam. That's doing something important to help your phone continue to work.
You might be better off with a flip phone as opposed to a smart phone if you prefer to avoid doing updates intended to help keep your phone working.
