Distribution of Apps through Apple Business manager

I've already enrolled for ABM and have developer account (appleId) linked with Organization.

I would like to privately distribute the apps to other selected organizations (my clients) via ABM.

I just need to distribute the content (my apps) to other organization's folks. I've created my apps using my org's distribution cert and provision profile.

In Appstore connect, there is option to privately distribute apps to other Org Id / apple Id. Upon distributing the apps to org Id, what are the steps to distribute the apps in ABM?

In this case do I need to setup MDM?

Hi amarnath_rc

As per my understanding, to distribute private applications on iOS devices, you need to have an agent such as Test Flight. Test Flight is developed by Apple and is available for developers registered with the iOS Developer Program. Note that this is for testing out beta versions of the app internally. But for a small-scale of device inventory, you could try it.

With Apple Business Manager, you can distribute apps available in the App store. You can purchase licenses in bulk using Apple VPP and go about publishing, assigning or re-assigning them on your device inventory as needed.

The best option, if you are looking for a full-fledged app management on private apps installed on your device inventory, enrolled into ABM is to go for an MDM.

Few MDMs offer extensive application management within their platform to publish private apps on iOS devices using Plist link or IPA file. You can delete, update or version private apps within the MDM.
