App Store & Itunes Gift Card

Hi there! My sisters friend bought me an App Store & Itunes Gift Card in Brisbane, Australia. I am from Papua New Giunea and when i try to redeem it, Apple tells me i have to do it in Australia. Is there anyway around this??
