Two factor authorization shows in notification

I use two factor authorization. Unfortunately I cannot find a way to stop the two factory authentication from showing in the notification window. Assume I lost the iPhone which is PW protected. And assume a two factor authentication is sent to the phone it would be visible as it shows in the notification and the code would be visible. How do I keep two factor authentication but stop the message from showing in notification. I would like to be required open my phone with a PW then to go into messenger to get the code.

Thanks for that. Good comment on the fact that iPhone doesn't understand the content and therefore cannot differentiate between message types. So I have turned off notification for this app. A small price to pay to prevent someone reading an authentication code on the lock screen. Seems to be a miss on apples part though. Why allow a code to appear above the password protected environment. Seems to contradict its purpose. Perhaps apple could consider differentiating the message types and then allowing the device to keep authentication codes under the password protected umbrella. Oh well. Another day perhaps.

Apple's 2 factor authentication will not show on the lock screen. If you have notifications enabled for the lock screen then 2 factor notifications that are sent by SMS from other sites may appear on the lock screen. You can turn off notifications for the lock screen, and you can also turn off notifications for all messages in Settings/Notifications. Go to Settings/Notifications - Messages and you can chose the behavior you want.

You can't disable notifications just for authentication codes, however, because the phone doesn't know anything about the contents of a message, so it can't differentiate authentication codes from any other type of text.
