Not able to transfer all contacts from iPhone 7 to new iPhone 11 Pro

I have recently bought the new iPhone 11 pro and wanted to transfer all the data from iPhone 7 to iPhone 11 pro . I am able to transfer all the data except the contacts of last 2 years ( Big Big problem )

I used 2 methods to transfer all my data to new iPhone 11 pro

1) Quick start method ( keeping old and new iPhone side by side )

2) Back up all the data of iPhone 7 to iTunes and then restore it on new iPhone 11 pro

In both the cases , All the data got transferred except the contacts of last 2 years .

Please Please help me , I have so many new contacts for last 2 years and it is really frustrating not to have those contacts in new iPhone 11 pro.

Contacts are neither stored locally on an iPhone nor in SIM. They are synced to an email account that you had Google, iCloud, AOL, Exchange, Outlook, Yahoo or any Other

  1. How many Contacts account (email client server) you have?
  2. What is your default Contacts Account?
  3. Which email account you are using to store Contacts?

  • See the GIF below for Contacts and Default Account

  • Learn how to add an email account and make it default (Watch the GIF)
  • This example is for Gmail but the process remains same for all Google, iCloud, AOL, Exchange, Outlook, Yahoo or any Other

Hey Sravan ,

Thanks for your response . For your question ,

  1. How many Contacts account (email client server) you have? - I have 3 contact account ( yahoo , gmail and exchange)
  2. What is your default Contacts Account? - it is exchange(my office mail server)
  3. Which email account you are using to store Contacts? - it is exchange (my office mail server)

You have explained the situation perfectly that contacts are linked with mail servers . Now the problem is my the exchange server of my office has been changed to new app 10 days back and now i can't have exchange mail server on my new iPhone 11 pro .

I tried to make gmail as the default contact account now( in my iPhone 7) and changed the same account to store contacts ( in both iPhone 7 and 11 pro) but still i am not getting the updated list . Any idea on that ?
