If I initiate a Message on my iPad it flows to my iMac and XR. But not the other way: Messages from those devices don't flow to my iPad, unless an addendum to an already existing thread. Rebooting does not solve the problem. All three machines are patched to last OS. Any ideas how to fresh Messages flowing iPad once again?

Please verify that Messages is enabled on both your iPhone and iPad in Settings > Tap your account > iCloud.
Please verify that iMessage is enabled on your iPhone and iPad in Settings > Messages.
Please verify that Text Message forwarding is enabled on your iPhone in Settings > Messages.
Please verify that iMessage is enabled on your Macintosh in Messages > Preferences > Account.
Please verify that Messages for iCloud in System Preferences > iCloud > Messages.

I checked iCloud on the iPad. It indicated it was enabled. However none of the links worked. And the list of iCloud devices (e.g. iPhone, iPad, iMac, etc) was empty with the gear spinner going endlessly. I attempted to sign out. After a lengthy delay that failed. Tried multiple times. Two reboots later and suddenly all was well. Maybe that is the magic: two reboots rather than one that I had tried previously. Messages and iCloud now working on all devices.
