I just inherited a computer at my church and I can't update because the original user's apple id is associated with it. I don't know this person, how to get ahold of them, and I don't know the old password. I need help!

Did the former owner erase the computer and set it up again? If not, you need to do that to make it 'your' computer. Start with step 6.
