Why won’t my iPhone alert me with my txt tones while paired with my Apple Watch. Only my watch will chirp. Nothing grime my phone accept ringtone.

Here's how notifications work if you have an Apple Watch:
Phone locked/watch unlocked - notifications appear/sound on the watch
Phone unlocked/watch unlocked - notifications appear/sound on the phone
Phone locked/watch locked - notifications appear/sound on the phone
This is the expected behavior.

Ok I’ve figured out that I’ll get my usual txt sounds from my iPhone only if it’s open. But if it’s on screen saver/or I’m not using my iPhone it won’t make any sounds. And it also won’t wake up the screen. 🤦🏻♀️
