help with unlocking a v7 so I can switch to t-mobile.
thanks. apparently costco has a different story about conveting my iphone 7 to a tmobile plan than tmobile rep says.
I'm interested in costco because they give you each a $125 discount card for the store when you sign up and the cost is the same?

Costco is a retail store, not cellular network. You don't sign up with them for cell service.
When you buy a iPhone from Costco, you either choose a carrier, or if it its unlocked it can be activated with any carrier, so not actually locked.
If you have an iPhone that's carrier locked, contact the carrier it's locked to and ask them.
Only the carrier it's locked to can unlock it.

Costco, as far as I know, does NOT sell unlocked iPhones. The phones they sell will lock to the first carrier used.
In which case it should be able to be set up with T-Mobile directly without needing to do anything.
