Stop auto play on watch when using music on my phone

How do I stop the ‘playing now’ coming up on my watch when I play music on my phone - I like to stream music on my phone but doing this kills my watch battery - I have tried turning off the ‘launch auto apps’ but this didn’t work

Hey Kristy,

I understand you're wanting to stop Now Playing from appearing on the Apple Watch when listening to music on the iPhone.

It sounds like you've adjusted the correct setting, but just to confirm, did you adjust this setting by following these steps? And if you check now, is the setting still off? Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone and tap the My Watch tab. Tap General, then tap Wake Screen and turn off Auto-launch Audio Apps. This information is from here: Listen to music, podcasts, and audiobooks on your Apple Watch.

If it's still showing on the Apple Watch, try restarting both devices:

Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Cheers!

Hey Kristy,

Thanks for reaching back out. Try unpairing and pairing the Apple Watch to the iPhone again. When you unpair, the data will be erased from your Apple Watch but a backup is also created when unpairing. You can still make a manual backup using these steps: Back up your Apple Watch

When you're ready, use these steps to unpair the Apple Watch: Unpair your Apple Watch and iPhone

Then pair and set it up again: Set up your Apple Watch
