Bought the APP recently and used them about 7-8 hours in total. Here is my current status.

I will update the post as it develops.
I also had this issue (irritated, itchy, watery ears after prolonged usage) and wanted to give my update. For me it was definitely the silicone eartips; tried putting in the Airpods without the tips on, no reaction. Put in just the tips for an hour, super itchy.
Went through the Comply and Spinfit C1025 tips that were suggested on this forum. The Comply I had a ton of trouble getting them to seal properly but the Spinfit ones worked about as well as the regular ones. Still causes some irritation with long listening sessions but much reduced itching and redness. I'm guessing b/c the spinfit ones are medical-grade silicone, they don't contain some chemical/allergen that the Apple ones do.
Do you have the irritation outside the ear as well or only inside the ear where the ear tips touch the ear canal?
I actually found a onguent that soothe the itching and aching in the ear. So, now when I have to wear my airpods pro, I put some onguent later on.
Okay, I get it, it’s an ointment. What kind of ointment do you use?
I bought some replacement tips off eBay. They are not Apple brand just the cheap knockoffs. I have used them twice and no problems so far.
Ever since I replaced my tips with a set from Amazon, I haven’t had an issue either.
I have been trying all afternoon. I keep gutting booted up the chain. Now they want to speak with me on the phone and I am on music hold.
I’ve concluded- it’s best to wait w/o the music. 🤪
In response to MaryAnnZ, I wonder if that is residual flakes of dead skin from the previous condition that has not entirely resolved. That is what I noticed with mine.
In my case, I have cleaned them up really thoroughly using clean water, it doesn’t help.
I used isopropyl on the case and tips, no effect. The same reaction happened with brand new third party silicone APP tips too. So it doesn’t really seem to be a degradation of the tips over time.
This clear drainage and warmth is not normal! Still trying to return them and get an address to retrieve them. 🤪
Good luck! Let us know how it goes.
So did you finally got rid of the itchiness symptoms after 10 days or longer?
