Bought the APP recently and used them about 7-8 hours in total. Here is my current status.

I will update the post as it develops.
You can see the saga listed here with using different tips. It has a spotty track record at best (often temporary), but you would need to read through the posts to find some suggestions to try.
I am in the camp that will always say "move on" personally, not worth the risk to your ears.
Contacting your point-of-purchase is definitely the best way to try and get a refund, but third-parties like Amazon and Best Buy won't pass your report on to Apple Support. Apple Support tickets can get directly escalated to Apple engineering, whereas third-party support really just wants to make sure you the customer are taken care of.
I’m not sure if you are allowed to provide her contact information but they (safety team) definitely did nothing but tell me that their engineers said that APP do not cause this issue and sent me and article on how to clean the Pods. They also offered to file a complaint for me. Which I did, twice.
Yes, this is what I do, over the ear for the most part, especially for the first few months to get rid of the allergy/infection.. Although I can now where all my old in ear products too, just not APPs.
I have same issue. Ear discharge after usage of just 2 hours.
I have ordered memory foam instead of silicone from

Will update if they are helpful.
I have a pair of power beats pro and had an allergic reaction to the silicone tips. Lots of ear drainage and flaky skin. A friend of mine had the same problem with his ears. Wish I had done research before buying. Thanks for posting Estar16.
Thank you for participating in the Apple Support Communities.
We want to make sure you reach the right team for help with your AirPods Pro. We recommend that you contact Apple Support directly. Depending on your region, you may be able to reach them here: Get Support
I hear you! Same story here with all the other headphones. As far as sanitization goes, you can sanitize the pods and case all you want, but you can’t change what they’re made of. So if that specific plastic (and who knows what that is) is giving off some chemical that your/my body doesn’t like, then it’s going to get on whatever tips you try when you store them in the case.
I still haven’t tried anything that seals as tight with regard to airflow as the APPs. I’ll try the Bose ones, but if those don’t work I’m just resigning to say in-ear noise canceling doesn’t work with my body.
Regular AirPods are fine, I used them for 3 years with no problems. But if your ears are already irritated from AirPods Pro then the regular ones will irritate them as well. I would wait a few weeks so they can heal.
Right? It is insane. Last Friday I thought ok i'll give these things a chance again (since they aren't cheap and really do sound good). I had to stop wearing them because my ears started to itch immediately and my left ear was crusty on Saturday morning. Today I'm tentatively listening to my old wired in ear Bose headphones. One ear just to see because i looked it up and the tips on these are made of silicone. I was so distraught over my ears with the pros that I got over the ear Bose noise cancelling instead. My ears needed a break.
In my ongoing experimentation on myself, I put my left AirPod pro in, WITHOUT the silicone tip, for 3 1/2 hours at work today. After a couple of hours I started to notice it felt hot. I ended up with light discharge at the upper part of my outer ear canal, the contact point. There is no itching or feeling of irritation as happened with the tips on. At this point I’m doubtful that I’m allergic to silicone though the added tips seem to somehow be involved in causing a rapid, lasting & severe reaction. I’m continuing to share this as others seem to be interested.
This is fascinating. With memory foam tips working for some and not others (they don't work for me), it's seeming like there's people in this thread with silicone allergy and possibly an allergy to the hard plastic acrylates referenced in this article https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT211158
I ordered a pair of the new Bose NC Earbuds to test and they just got here today, so I'll report back with how my ears react. I've been using my silicone-tipped Bose Soundsport Wireless for a couple weeks no to no averse effects, hoping that the tips on the new ones are made of the same stuff...
Is it possible that AirPods are releasing an irritating substance in the form of a gas and the silicone tips, by creating a tight seal, are trapping that gas in the outer ear canal making the reaction worse? I can wear the AirPods Pro without the silicone tips but still had a very mild reaction at the contact point at the top of my outer ear canal. It did not last for days as with the tips on. Using silicone covers only also holds the AirPods more firmly in place closer to the ear canal. Also, I can hear words in music more clearly when I wear my regular wired headphones that insert into my ears. I was having trouble hearing clearly with the AirPods Pro. I would guess the difficulty in hearing might be caused by the swelling in the ear canal.
Very interesting, AlterDuo. I will note that mine were purchased in November 2019—I was a very early participant in this discussion.
I had an immediate reaction (that I didn't connect to the APPs for some time) after no previous problems with any earbuds and no history of any allergies. I have long since sold my APPs to a friend, who uses them and loves them, but I monitor this discussion out of curiosity.
My AirPods Pro were purchased in November or December of 2019. I believe I didn’t have a severe reaction for several months because, initially, I wasn’t wearing them for long periods of time. Instead I kept them on my work desk and only I picked one up and put it in when a call came in. Most of the time I use text messaging. It wasn’t until I used one for a call that lasted more than an hour that I had a severe reaction which lasted for about 3 days and at least a week to fully heal.
