I reimported a finished movie from the camcorder back into iMovie. It looks ok until I drag the clips into the timeline, then the tops of the photos etc. are cut off. I can't see any way to adjust the resolution, but then maybe that isn't the problem. Ideas?

Now, should I ever import a finished iMovie from tape again, is there a setting to make it that way so I don't have to go through this process again?
Or, maybe you already are using the Crop to Fill setting, in which case you can try the Fit setting. The Fit setting should fit the clip into the screen without cutting anything off.

Instead of the Fit setting, try the Crop to Fill setting that you get when you click on the crop tool in the tool bar at the upper right of your screen.

Yes. Go to iMovie/Preferences and set the Photo Placement preference to Fit.
