accidentally deleted an entire texted conversation

What to do.

Back up from 3 days ago would be a perfect solution.

Do I...

1) delete everything off my phone first , 2) sign out of icloud

3) sign in to icloud

4) Backup (from 3 days ago with 6 months worth of texting conversation) along with whatever else was in my phone when the back up was created 3 days ago.

5) I am cool with not having the last (3) days of info across my whole phone in order to not loose (1) important text conversation with a student (pics and emojis and texts back and forth)

(A route I am not taking: My iphone 11 has a much newer IoS than my macbook pro (I intentionally run an older version on my desktop) so I will not be able the laptop to restore an icloud conversation to my phone. (However I did go looking for the backup within icloud from my desktop and I saw calendar, mail, notes, etc everything except backup... so I dropped this path)
