Problem playing audiobooks on iPod nano 7th gen

I downloaded an audiobook from audible and after getting half way it started skipping on my nano. I redownloaded and deleted from nano and MacBook and then reimported it and it stops at the exact same spot. I even tried the above with fully resetting the ipod and wiping it. I tried another version of the same book (Atlas Shrugged) and the new one has the same problem but earlier in the book. Audible suggests download as enhanced but i found it was already set for that. I can play on the laptop fine but not on my nano.
