Color profile changes in external monitor when closing the laptop

I have an external monitor with a different profile than the one in the laptop's screen.

When I close the Mac to just work with the external monitor then the color profile in the external monitor seems to change. The color is quite different.

How can I solve it?

Unusual colour settings in an external monitor connected to my MacBook Air ? Hi there, I am using an Acer KA242y 23.8" FHD monitor as the second display with my MacBook Air. So when I am watching a youtube video, Netflix etc.. after enabling full screen mode in the external monitor, for few seconds colour settings work perfectly fine but once the cursor disappears from the screen, a green filter sort of things appears over the content which is streaming. But I understood that I do not experience the same issue when I use my mac alone. Can anyone please assist me in this ? Thanks. Note : I am connecting the external monitor via the HDMI port with the help on an Apple Multi port adapter.

iMac monitor displaying two different colors instead of one when solid colors are used on websites. I took a screenshot of what I'm experiencing when visiting websites with background colors for their content modules. I see two different colors displayed. The actual color of the website pictured in the screenshot is the darker red but the display shows a brighter color as well and there is a clear deliniation. This happens across the board with all colors and not just red. I was wondering what is causing this issue and can it be fixed by me or do I need to have the iMac checked by Apple?

I understand that color profiles are changing on your external monitor in clamshell mode, and I'm happy to help. To help isolate this issue further, please test to see if it occurs in safe mode and in a new user account:
