You own a 2013, 1st generation, iPad Air 1.

The 1st gen iPad Air 1 and 2nd and 3rd gen iPad Mini are all ineligible for the newest iPadOS.

Apple has ended support for these iPad models at iOS 12.4.3.

Apple has deemed these iPad models’ internal hardware as NOT powerful enough nor sufficient to run all the new features of iPadOS 13.

These iPad models will still be supported by third party app developers for, at least, another couple of years, or so.

BUT,

If you really need/want an iPad that can run the latest and greatest versions of iOS, as well as, the most current apps

available, then, you will need to purchase a new iPad from Apple or a discounted, refurbished iPad from Apple’s

Refurbished & Clearance section of Apple’s Website.
