Apple TV connection with no available HDMI ports on TV
Is it possible to connect the ATV to my Samsung 2015 HD TV in the only ports left - LAN or USB? Can you buy a converter that would work?

Two possibilities come to mind.
First, what I did when I wanted to connect AppleTV, SonyDVD, & Amazon Firestick to one TV HDMI input was to purchase an Audio/Video Receiver. These devices generally have 3 to 5 HDMI inputs and one HDMI output. The advantage is that you get a remote to do the switching and can run the audio to HiFi speakers. Downside is expense.
Second, something I considered to save cost. You can purchase HDMI combiner/splitters that are manually switched and very low cost. A 2-input/1-output device can be had for about $10 on Amazon. (You'll pay more than that for the extra HDMI cable you need to connect the switch output to your TV. Downside is having to get off the sofa to change sources.

Yes, Jerrold's solution is a great one. I also have a receiver, into which I have connected an Apple TV, an Amazon Fire TV, a PS4, a Wii, Satellite TV, a Blu-Ray player, and a VCR player. Also of this goes into the TV via one HDMI cable and from the receiver I get 7.1 Surround Sound.
Mocha,
One other thing, and please don't be taken back by my bringing up the simple, but are you really sure you don't have more HDMI inputs. A TV of that vintage should have more than one. Sometimes one or more are on the back and often there's one on the edge or front of the set as well. They don't always show up in your list of inputs in the TV Source selection unless something is plugged in.
If you can get behind the set with a good light you may find the fix.

I did some research after posting my question (sorry about that) and did discover the idea of using a switcher device. Thank you for confirming that for me.
I confirmed with Samsung specs that only 2 HDMI - I appreciate your help
Hello,
No, USB and a LAN connection cannot carry a video signal.
