I Went To A 3rd Party Repairer To Get Ipad Screen Replaced and now Touch ID function is not working
I yell & scream at people who get their Apple device screens replaced at those cheap & nasty 3rd party places. Should have taken my own advice. In September 2019, I dropped my iPad, 6th gen (no longer under warranty) & the top corner of the screen cracked so I took it to a non Apple store to be replaced as my closet Apple store was 1.5hours away & I needed to use it. It cost $120 & I did not sign a waiver.
I went to Apple yesterday as my iPad was getting really hot, not holding charge while using. They informed me it was a 3rd party screen & they can identify force marks to get the screen off, dust under the screen & it being placed on unevenly. They also told me the touch ID was no longer working because of the 3rd party screen. I have been contacting apply support for months trying to figure out why my Touch ID wasn’t working anymore. When I got the screen replaced I was not made aware the Touch ID function would no longer work.
I would just like to know what my recourse is, if any? Could I ask for my money back because they neglected to inform me the Touch ID would not work after the replacement?
