How do I get Apple TV on the Macbook and on a (new) Sony smart TV?

The Apple ID as used for the setup of the new device, is the Apple ID that can accept the offer for the free year. You should use that Apple ID on any of your other devices to access the Apple TV+ service there.

Devices registered with or signed in with the first Apple ID will never access purchases or subscriptions from the second Apple ID.

In order to watch on a smart TV you would need one that has access to the TV app or has support for airplay 2. The other option is to connect a streaming device that has the TV app (Apple TV, Roku, Firestick)

Your answer only supplied info on accepting the free Apple TV for a year......but what is the answer to the question....how can I watch Apple TV movies on my smart TV rather than my laptop.........can you only do this by streaming or can I connect my laptop to my TV with a cable of some kind....ie HDMI.....thanks
