I can't save my videos after trimmed with quicktime player

I can open my video and trim but I can't save it

It says only "The operation could not be completed"

the file extension is mp4. What should I do?

Hi there, Bina1010.

I see that, after trimming a video using QuickTime, you're unable to save the edited video. You get a message that the operation can't be completed, and I'm glad to help.

Save or rename a recording in QuickTime Player on Mac -- Try giving your video a new name and/or location where you can save it.

Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac -- If you're still unable to save a video you've trimmed using QuickTime, restart your Mac in safe mode and test how it responds. If it works while in safe mode, reboot normally and test again in your own user account.

If this doesn't correct the problem, please answer the following questions:

  1. What model of Mac are you using and which macOS is it currently on?
  2. Which version of QuickTIme are you using?
  3. Where did you obtain the video you’re trying to trim?

The more information you provide, the better we'll be able to offer additional guidance.

Let me know how that goes, and take care!
