Hi LJanieC,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities! I understand you are experiencing a concern with your contacts, and I would like to help.

I have a few questions to gain more information about what is happening.

-When you go to place a call, are you using the Contacts app, or are you using the Phone app?

-Where exactly are you seeing the number only, with no contact name? The Recents tab in the Phone app? Or, the actual contact card in the Contacts app?

-Are all contacts affected, or just certain contacts?

I would also like you to make sure your iPhone is fully up to date by checking Settings > General > Software Update. If you do see an update available, you may want to try updating iOS using the steps found here: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support, then check for the same behavior. If you are fully up to date with software already, try restarting your iPhone: Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support. Does restarting help correct the behavior you are noticing with your contacts?

If you need continued support, please reply back with responses to the questions above.

Regards.
