how do I sync music to my ipod classic
The 160Gb iPod classic is able to reallocate up to 16,384 unreadable sectors. You've used up about half the capacity, but the fact that none show as pending is a positive sign. Max. temp has gone over the nominal limit of 50c at some point. Try the DFU Restore method in the user tip. iPod classic is classified as an obsolete product by Apple so their staff are unlikely to be able to provide much in the way of assistance.

iPod classic is classed as obsolete (see Vintage and obsolete products - Apple Support) but that doesn't mean that macOS 10.15 Catalina isn't able to connect to and update an iPod classic. My own experience has been that it doesn't like the device in Windows (FAT32) format, which previously hasn't been an issue for iTunes on Mac. I've currently got 7,625 songs on my Classic that were loaded through Finder in Catalina.

I have tried all you have suggested and still no success !! The on screen message states “Erase Process Failed” followed by “Unknown Error Occurred (1433)”
I will go to the Apple store this week and see if they are able to fix
Thanks for your help
Hi buddy Just to let you know I have used the DFU restore and it appears to be successful... but very slow as I have 3500 plus songs to Sync it with probably take a while
Many thanks for all your help
Disk Utility may be trying to silently scan and repair the drive. See Corrupt iPod Classic - Apple Community. What are your HDD stats?

Again, see Corrupt iPod Classic - Apple Community and let me know what the HDD stats are. I may be able to tell you if the trip is worthwhile.

My iMac is not finding my iPod classic when it’s connected with cable ...please advise
In Catalina it should show up in Finder rather than Music. You may want to try another cable and/or check for fluff in the docking port. Reset the device and try again if you haven't already.

Okay I’ll try this I’ll let you know if it works thanks
