iTunes cannot connect to iPhone XR

My iTunes on Windows 10 will not connect with my iPhone XR. Have tried all suggestions I have seen online except uninstalling/reinstalling. Software and drivers are all up-to-date. Cable is good. iTunes recognizes an iPhone 7 and several iPods without problem. PC does recognize my iPhone XR, just not iTunes . Have talked with Apple. Tried forced restart on iPhone. Any suggestions?


Editorial comment - Over the years, I seem to frequently have a connection problem of one sort or another between my Windows PC and Apple devices. Very frustrating.

I had previously updated drivers, but this was in a different location. I went under the Device Manager, Universal Service Bus Devices and updated the drivers for Apple Mobile Device USB Device. It started working right away. (I hope it continues to work!)
