I am trying to change my Apple ID to the secondary email I had on my account. I deleted it from my account because I knew Apple would not let me use it as my Apple ID and also as a secondary. It still tells me to choose a different email because my new Apple ID cannot be the same as my notification email. What am I doing wrong?
Apple hasn’t published any guidance for using an address again. Normally, if your e-mail address was associated with an ID in any way, for example as a Reachable at or Rescue e-mail address, then it can't be reused with another Apple ID for approximately one year. I have also seen posts that stated Apple told them there was a 30 day waiting period before the address could be used again. You will need to get another e-mail address to use as your Apple ID or you can try waiting 30 days to see if that works.

Thanks Eric for replying. I actually got it to work. I had to sign into my Apple account on a browser and change the notification email there. It did not show up on my phone, but it was there at Apple.com. I put in a different email for notification and then was able to use it. Kinda crazy how many email accounts you have to come up with to change though.
