Playback control in Books app

When using the Books app to listen to audiobooks on iPhone, there are controls to skip ahead or back 15 seconds during playback. But using forward / backward buttons on (regular or bluetooth) headphones skips the entire chapter instead of just 15 seconds. Is there a way to change this?

Audio book player for hearing impaired Hi. I am a little bit deaf. When I am listening to music from my iPhone to Bluetooth headphones, I can hear ok. However, it seems that audio books aren’t recorded as loud as music and so if I can’t hear the audio books. This is when I’m cycling, when I have to remove my hearing aid because it boosts wind noise so that’s no help. Is there a way of playing back audio books via Bluetooth headphones at, say, 150% volume? With this boost, it should be enough to compensate for the audio books being recorded softer. Thanks...David

Audiobook stops playing when iPhone locks Following update to IOS 17, my audiobook will pause when phone locks after 5 minutes. It also happens if I change from the audiobook app to another one. If I change the locking setting to never, the book will continue to play, as long as I stay on the app.
