I cannot find a keyboard shortcut to indicate a short vowel (vowel with a breve over it) I anyone can do this on their Mac, I would be grateful to learn the strokes. Mac Support could not help me with this. Thank you.

Thank you. I have tried this and worked with Apple Support with not luck. I have ABC-Extended in use. I can get a breve using the option + B key simultaneously, but it does not work when I press it with a vowel. I cannot get the two to be together. Is there a particular font that I need to use? Any additional suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am a teacher and need this symbol over the vowels for activity sheets. Thank you for your help.

One way is open System Preferences > Keyboard > Input Sources, press the "+", add "ABC - Extended" and double click it to set. Then press "option + B", then the vowel.
